About the chiropractors

Grant Pretorius, M.Chiro (RSA)

Grant Pretorius - Farnham Chiropractic

Grant was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. His extremely sporty lifestyle and interest in the function of the human body attracted him to the profession of Chiropractic.

He started studying Chiropractic at The University of Johannesburg (UJ) in 1996. He started his master’s research dissertation in 2002.

After graduating from UJ with a Masters in Chiropractic (2004), he moved to England with the view to travel and develop both professionally and personally.

Initially, Grant worked as the primary Chiropractor in a busy practice in Guildford, Surrey for over 3 years. In 2008 he set up his own practice in Farnham, Surrey. After building up a good reputation and client base, Grant expanded his operation in 2011, and is the Director of ‘Farnham Chiropractic Wellness Ltd'. This centre offers wellness based Chiropractic care, Sports Massage and Reflexology.

Grant is the only certified 'Full Body' Active Release Technique (ART) practitioner in the area. This incredible soft tissue technique is the first choice for most of the professional athletes in USA and Canada and is starting to make an impact in Europe.

Grant prides himself in being an eternal student, constantly learning the best way of getting his clients well in the shortest possible time, and keeping them well. Recently Grant has completed a course in Systemic Kinesiology. This has allowed him to specifically guide his patients as to what nutrition would benefit them and what things to avoid. It has also helped him become even more specific with his adjustments and soft tissue treatments.

When he is not working, he loves spending time with his 2 young children, as well as exercising. His particular passions are water sports, cycling and Crossfit.

In 2014 Grant was the chiropractor to the British Masters team in Izmir, Turkey.

Graeme was born and raised in Durban in South Africa, a diverse coastal city that promotes outside activities in the sun, sea, and mountains.

Graeme graduated from Durban University of Technology (DUT) in 2005 and has been in private practice ever since.

Even as a student Graeme has been active in Chiropractic governance and this continued through his professional career. From 2005 to 2016 he was Kwa-Zulu Natal Regional Coordinator for the National Internship Committee. In 2009 Graeme went back to DUT as a part time lecturer (in Diagnostics, Nutrition, as well as Gerontology), Clinician in the DUT teaching clinic, research supervisor, and external examiner until 2016.

Graeme was also very active in the Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA), being on the organising committees for three National Professional Congresses in 2007, 2011, and 2016 (the last of which as Chairperson). He also served as Secretary (2012 to 2014) and Chairperson (2014 to 2016) for the Kwa-Zulu Natal Branch of CASA. He is currently still a member of CASA, registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of SA, and a member of the United Chiropractic Association (UK).

As part of his continued training in addition to Chiropractic, Graeme is well versed in techniques such as Dry Needling, Kinesio Taping, Sports Strapping, and Electrotherapy.

In early 2017 Graeme came to England with his wife Kirsty to broaden their horizons and work with Grant and is proud to be part of the team at Farnham Chiropractic Wellness; looking forward to many years serving the community and promoting better health.

When not in Practice, Graeme is an avid Ballroom and Latin American dancer on both the competitive dancefloor and the stage. He also has a keen interest in reptile husbandry, and plays the acoustic and bass guitars.

What our Clients say

"Having had several years of chronic back and neck pain, after receiving treatment I generally feel freer of pain – more flexible, less stiff and now have coping strategies if pain occurs in between visits. Chiropractic care has freed up my back so I’m better able to play sport. I suffer less pain when undertaking my sedentary job. Everyone is very friendly and I know that when I leave I will feel better than when I arrived. Since coming to see Grant, I feel much more positive about my back health – now and in the future."
