Gerardo - Massage Therapist

A former mining engineer with a varied career, Gerardo came in 2007 to England to complete a PhD in engineering, and worked later in research and consultancy in the UK.

Very keen on outdoors and playing different sports and martial arts, though he likes to emphasise that always socially rather than competitively, and having suffered himself several injuries, he decided to take a course in Sports & Remedial Massage. Initially, this was more of a hobby to offer him a respite from his desk-bound work. His school of choice was the North London Schools of Sports Massage, where he graduated in 2017 with a BTEC L5.

However, he was intrigued with the body response to massage and he carried on studying and researching, specially in the area of functional neurology, where he is working towards further qualifications. After working privately and in other centres, Gerardo found shared views and interests with Grant and was delighted to join efforts with the Farnham Chiropractic Wellness Centre.

To the standard techniques used in Sports & Remedial Massage, Gerardo also adds elements from Thai massage for stretching and mobilisation and functional neurology testing.

Gerardo is also a member of the Sports Massage Association (SMA) in the UK.

When he is not at work, he enjoys meeting friends for outdoor activities or a pool/darts game. And a good conversation with a whisky and a cigar by the fireplace!
