Sports Injuries

Focus on sports and their injuries, as well as how the right exercise can help in treatment is an important aspect at Farnham Chiropractic Wellness. ...

Sports Injuries

Sporting activities can potentially place the body under an enormous stress, which in turn may relate to the occurrence of various injuries corresponding to an acute trauma (such as a fall or an impact) or a chronic repetitive strain or injury (such as a muscle strain, or tendonitis). Depending on the patient this could mean anything from not being able to take part in the activity that they love doing, to the financial implications of the professional sportsman who cannot fulfil their obligations or is prevented from performing at their peak.

Here at Farnham Chiropractic Wellness we look not only at the mechanism of the presenting injury and how it happened, but also how the function of the spine (and as a result the rest of the body) is affecting overall elite performance. For all our elite athletes we endeavour to improve their performance by removing any limiting factors related to their biomechanical or neurologic function, even in the absence of pain or symptoms, so that they can achieve their full potential.

There are many research studies out there that show how Chiropractic can help improve sports performance as well as lowering the risk of injury, and speeding up recovery (see below).

What our Clients say

"Having had several years of chronic back and neck pain, after receiving treatment I generally feel freer of pain – more flexible, less stiff and now have coping strategies if pain occurs in between visits. Chiropractic care has freed up my back so I’m better able to play sport. I suffer less pain when undertaking my sedentary job. Everyone is very friendly and I know that when I leave I will feel better than when I arrived. Since coming to see Grant, I feel much more positive about my back health – now and in the future."
