Restoring and Regulating the body's Nervous System
Chiropractic is concerned with removing interference to the nervous system, and thus restoring the body's ability to heal and regulate.
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a profession founded on self evident truths. The first is that the body is a self healing and a self regulating system. For example, when you cut yourself the wound will heal without you having to think about it. The second self evident truth is that the nervous system is the master controller of the body.
Every cell, tissue and organ is directly controlled by the nervous system. It thus follows that any interference to the nervous system will reduce the body's ability to self heal and regulate. Chiropractic is concerned with removing interference to the nervous system, and thus restoring the body's ability to heal and regulate. This is achieved by using specific chiropractic adjustments.
Chiropractic adjustments are achieved using widely varied techniques. Some of these are gentle enough to use on newborn babies or the elderly, while others have enough controlled force to help professional sports people.
The goal with all Chiropractic techniques is the same: to detect and remove any interference to the body’s natural balance, and function. Particular attention is made to removing interference to the nervous system at the spine.
Interference to the nervous system can cause a variety of conditions including: lower back pain; neck pain; shoulder pain; pain between the shoulder blades; and some kind of headaches. Chiropractors are very good at finding the root cause of problems, thus more effectively treating symptoms.
The first aim of the chiropractors at ‘Farnham Chiropractic Wellness’ is to address your chief concern, whether this is a particular symptom, worrying dysfunction, or even desire to perform better. They will use sophisticated, cutting edge equipment to accurately assess the stress upon your spine and nervous system as well as traditional clinical evaluation to diagnose your chief concern.
The next step in the process is to get the body back in balance, removing the focal stress points and allowing sustained healing to follow. Various techniques are used to achieve this. See 'Techniques' page to find out more. After you have reached your goals, you will be welcome to prevent future relapses by entering into a wellness chiropractic programme.
